Well, after all the work we went through to make and install the walls of our giant Marble Machines room, here is a corner of the room being worked on by many visitors over the course of two and a half hours.
Notice the marble run at the very left of the screen: those guys were there the entire time! In a museum where the average “stay time” for one exhibit is 46 seconds, I think that more than 2 hours of continuous work on one activity is quite remarkable…

The boy to the left in the blue sweatshirt who stayed for more than 2 hours is my son, Beej!
He loved the marble exhibit and only left because the exhibit was about to close.
Beej would like to thank the designer of this exhibit for a great day!

And we would like to thank Beej for spending so much time with us, and building one of the most innovative marble machines I’ve ever seen. I’ve been meaning to post a photo of his solution for a marble “jump”, involving rubber bands wrapped around dowel to make a mini-trampoline!
Awesome room! Could you please tell me how did they attach the objects to the wall?
The room is panelled with pegboard, so dowels are the affixing implement of choice. But also tape, rubber bandsm u-clamps, etc.
